Community Involvement

Recently, CPOA Erica Place Old Age Home situated in Silvertown Athlone received a special gift from the “Top Form Athletic Club”. The club also situated in Athlone, was founded in 1993 by a handful of running enthusiasts whose aim is to promote a healthier lifestyle through sports. The clubs current membership status is 146 with the majority members coming from the Athlone area.

Erica Place Old Age Home was identified by the club as a very worthy cause to support as the club takes a keen interest in community activities and projects. They have also been involved in marshalling the JIVE 10km walk and coordinating the Cape Town Argus Tri-cycle event which involved approximately 2000 youth.

Erica Place has been caring for older persons for the last 45 years. The home welcomes community participation and strives to form valuable partnerships with other community-based organisations. Erica Place would like to extend a big thank you to “Top Form Athletic Club” for reaching out to make a difference in the lives of the aged.
